Mayan Sombra is a high-performance shade fabric designed to protect exposed systems from intense sun, heat, and environmental wear. It is specially selected for use in hot, high-UV climates like Mexico, where standard materials tend to break down quickly.
This fabric provides:
Excellent UV protection, reducing heat buildup
Improved airflow, helping prevent trapped heat and moisture
Durability under constant sun exposure
Extended lifespan for the materials it protects
By using Mayan Sombra as an outer protective layer, we help shield tinacos and insulation from sun damage, temperature extremes, and premature aging — keeping your water cooler and your system protected for longer.
-
Yes. Heat and UV exposure can encourage algae and bacterial growth. Our cover helps maintain the water temperature the same as the source (Jaypay or well for example) and blocks harmful UV rays, supporting cleaner, safer water storage.
-
No. The Tinaco hats are not permanently sealed.
They are designed to be easily removable so you can continue regular Tinaco cleaning and maintenance without any hassle. Simply and carefully:
Remove the hat or hats
Clean or service the Tinaco as needed
Gently reattach the hats using the grommets and strings provided
This is not a one-use product. The design allows for repeated removal and reattachment while maintaining proper protection.

Premium Package - Mayan Sombra slip cover: Warranty of 6 months after installation by our professional team
Is the warranty valid if I install the product myself?
No. The warranty is only valid when the product is installed by the El Mago del Tinaco team.
Self-installation or installation by a third party voids the warranty, as proper fitting and secure attachment are essential for performance and durability.
Why choose professional installation instead of doing it yourself?
If installation is included, there’s no need to take the risk.
Our trained team has the proper equipment, experience, and safety training to install your Tinaco cover correctly and efficiently. Climbing onto a roof carries real risk, and improper installation can affect performance and void the warranty.
Let us handle it safely—no ladders, no stress, no risk for you.
